Mary Martin Fund partners and rules of operation
In Australia the Mary Martin Fund is an incorporated association (no. A43217) under the SA Associations Incorporation Act (1985). Its ABN no. is 11 616 715 374, and it was granted deductable gift recipient (DGR) status in May 2019. Its managing committee is based in Adelaide – see contacts.
In India the partner is the Nilgiris Adivasi Welfare Association, based in Kotagiri in the state of Tamil Nadu - see contacts also.
The following operational rules have been agreed between the parties.
- Through consultation with NAWA, either through visits or written exchanges, determine a specific project to support that is within the Fund’s normal financial range.
- NAWA is to determine a clear budget for the project, and documentation of this to be reviewed by the Fund. At this stage the target is $A25 000 to support a social worker position.
- The Fund to raise the amount needed in Australia.
- The amount to be transferred via normal banking channels to NAWA.
- The Fund to keep full records of emails, transfers and other exchanges.
- NAWA is to:
- a) report receipt of all funds received within 30 days
- b) report project progress and expenditure to the Fund on an annual basis
- c) include the project and funding in NAWA’s audited Annual Report
- d) respond to correspondence and/or enquiries from the Fund regarding the project.
